For two years, I worked as a Sports Information Director (SID) student assistant for UA Athletics Communications. I primarily worked with the volleyball and softball teams as I assisted Nate Sheehan in all media and communications efforts for each sport.
My overall responsibility included assisting with media availability for various sporting events, which included facilitating press conferences and assisting with all in-game media obligations. I also prepared media materials for UA sporting events, including flip cards, press releases, feature stories, game notes and game stories. I also updated team rosters, media guides and statistics and RollTide.com weekly.
I live tweeted play-by-play during home volleyball matches (16.4k+ followers) during the 2022 season. To garner more fan engagement the following year, I started posting live match updates and behind-the-scenes footage on our Instagram story (53.7k+ followers). With these efforts, our Instagram following grew by 19%.
Similarly, for the 2023 and 2024 seasons for softball, I live tweeted play-by-play during home softball games (184.4k+ followers) and updated score graphics. From January - May 2024, our following increased by ~10,000.
Apart from volleyball and softball, I assisted in event and communication management for football, basketball and gymnastics.
